About the Role

We are hiring an ambitious, hands-on Technical Manager with 2 to 3 years of software engineering experience to step up and lead a development squad in Kozhikode.

This role is tailored for a sharp developer who excels at coding, possesses natural leadership instincts, and is ready to take on project management responsibilities. You will balance hands-on development (~60–70% coding) with sprint planning, technical estimations, code reviews, requirement gathering, and managing a small team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities

- Hands-on Development: Write clean, high-performance code for core backend, frontend, or systems modules, setting the gold standard for your team.
- Code Reviews & Quality Control: Conduct regular code reviews to ensure memory safety, clean architecture, automated testing, and maintainable project structures.
- Planning & Estimations: Break down product features into engineering tasks, estimate delivery timelines accurately, and manage sprint backlogs.
- Requirement Gathering: Work directly with company founders, hardware leads, and product managers to translate feature requirements into clear technical specs.
- Team Management & Mentorship: Lead, unblock, and mentor a pod of junior developers, ensuring smooth collaboration and high team productivity.
- Budget & Resource Tracking: Assist in tracking cloud/server infrastructure spend,



software tools, and lab equipment requirements for your projects.

Qualifications

- Experience: 2 to 3 years of software/systems engineering experience with demonstrated leadership potential or experience leading small module deliverables.
- Education: B.Tech / BE / BCA / MCA / B.Sc in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or equivalent practical coding background.
- Technical Depth: Solid hands-on background in modern backend/systems languages (Python, Rust, C/C++, or Node.js) or modern web stacks.
- Execution Mindset: Strong understanding of git workflows, issue tracking, agile project estimations, and technical scoping.
- Soft Skills: Clear communication, solid problem-solving abilities, and the empathy needed to guide and mentor entry-level developers.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)

- Prior experience as a module lead, senior developer, or team lead.
- Exposure to hardware-software integration, IoT, real-time telemetry, or robotics.
- Familiarity with project management tools (Jira, Linear, GitHub Projects) and CI/CD automation.
