About ZETO

ZETO is building a technology-driven EV mobility ecosystem for scooter rental, fleet management, rider operations, subscriptions, payments, IoT tracking, battery swapping, and hub operations.

We are looking for a Backend Developer Intern with knowledge of Java and/or Node.js who is interested in building scalable APIs and backend services. Basic exposure to React Native will be an added advantage for understanding end-to-end mobile application integration.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain backend services using Java / Spring Boot and Node.js.
- Design and integrate RESTful APIs for mobile apps and web dashboards.
- Work on backend modules for:
- User authentication & authorization
- Rider onboarding & KYC
- Fleet & vehicle management
- Scooter allocation
- Rental plans & subscriptions
- Payments & renewals
- Hub management
- IoT/GPS data
- Battery swapping
- Service & maintenance
- Reports & analytics
- Design and manage relational database tables.
- Work with MySQL/PostgreSQL and AWS RDS.
- Implement API validation, exception handling, logging, and error responses.
- Assist with JWT/token-based authentication and role-based access control.
- Integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, SMS/OTP, notifications, maps, and IoT platforms.
- Support React Native mobile application integration with backend APIs.
- Debug API, database, and application integration issues.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and documented code.




- Use Git/GitHub for version control and team collaboration.
- Assist with deployment, testing, and monitoring of backend services.
- Work closely with mobile developers, frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and the technology team.

Required Technical Skills

Backend:
Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, REST APIs

Database:
MySQL / PostgreSQL, SQL, basic database design

Development Tools:
Git, GitHub, Postman, Maven/NPM

Basic Concepts:
OOP, MVC architecture, authentication, JSON, HTTP/HTTPS, database relationships and API integration.

Good to Have

Knowledge or hands-on exposure to:

React Native | AWS | RDS | EC2/Elastic Beanstalk | JWT | Spring Security | Express.js | Microservices | Docker | WebSockets | Firebase | Redis | IoT/GPS Integration

Eligibility

Students or recent graduates from:

B.Tech / B.E. / BCA / MCA / B.Sc. Computer Science / IT or equivalent technical programs

Freshers with strong programming fundamentals and valuable academic/personal projects are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Learn

This internship provides hands-on exposure to production-level backend development, Spring Boot, Node.js, API architecture, database design, AWS infrastructure, authentication, mobile-app integration, IoT systems, EV fleet technology, and SaaS platforms.

Interns will work on actual product modules rather than only training assignments.

High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time opportunity based on performance and business requirements.
