Job Summary
I had a meeting with Prashant today. He has a requirement to have a lead in India to oversee what TCS does in SAP Finance operations for a specific region. I'm providing detailed description of the role below. We need to get an experienced candidate who is smart as this will give us good exposure into what TCS does. He is ready to evaluate the candidate and start ASAP. Minimum duration is 6 months with the possibility to extend. I will call you tomorrow.
Detailed Description:
- Senior SAP operations manager based in India to oversee TCS, which currently provides L1 and L2 support.
- This person will support a specific region rather than the entire global organization and will serve as the primary liaison between the business and TCS.
- The role requires strong SAP experience, especially SAP FICO and finance processes. Experience in consumer products or manufacturing would be useful, although a strong SAP FICO professional should be able to learn the specific business processes quickly.
- The candidate must be experienced and technically confident enough to manage TCS effectively. A junior or recently graduated resource would not be suitable because TCS could otherwise dominate the relationship.
## Responsibilities
- Lead daily scrum or operational calls and maintain regular communication with business stakeholders.
- Triage incidents, follow up on urgent or aging tickets, and ensure TCS is progressing issues appropriately.
- Challenge or guide TCS when necessary instead of relying entirely on their analysis and resolution timelines.
- Track operational change requests,
including ownership, progress, testing, implementation, and compliance.
- Monitor minor operational enhancements and ensure TCS provides appropriate testing and support.
- Keep Prashant informed through regular updates covering major incidents, business escalations, TCS follow-ups, and upcoming actions.
Additional Context:
- Finance support is expected to become more demanding as the organization moves from quarterly close activities toward a monthly close model due to the KC transition. The person should understand the implications and help ensure timely support.
