Responsible for accurately evaluating gold jewellery and ornaments, assessing purity and weight, estimating value, and ensuring secure and compliant handling of gold items.

Key Responsibilities:

- Examine and appraise gold jewellery and ornaments for purity, weight, quality, and authenticity.

- Conduct gold purity testing using appropriate testing methods and equipment.

- Accurately weigh gold items and calculate their approximate market value.

- Identify and assess different gold purities such as 18K, 20K, 22K, and 24K.

- Detect plated, fake, adulterated, or suspicious gold items.

- Verify jewellery details and supporting documents where required.

- Maintain accurate appraisal records and documentation.

- Ensure safe custody and proper handling of gold items during the appraisal process.

- Follow company policies, valuation procedures, and security guidelines.

- Coordinate with the sales, operations, and management teams when required.

- Report any discrepancies, suspicious transactions,



or valuation concerns to the appropriate manager.

- Keep updated with changes in gold rates and industry practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a Gold Appraiser, Gold Valuer, Jewellery Appraiser, or in a similar role.

- Good knowledge of gold purity, testing, weighing, and valuation.

- Solid attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to identify genuine and potentially fraudulent gold items.

- Good mathematical and calculation skills.

- Honest, responsible, and trustworthy.

- Good communication and customer-handling skills.

- Knowledge of local gold market practices is an advantage.
