Job Title: Process Design Engineer – Water & Wastewater Treatment

Position Summary

The Process Design Engineer will be responsible for creating and optimizing process designs for water and wastewater treatment systems including municipal and industrial applications. The role covers process calculations, sizing, equipment selection, PFDs/P&IDs;, and technical support for tenders and engineering projects. You will contribute to sustainable, high-performance treatment solutions aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Design & Engineering

- Develop detailed process designs for WTP/ETP/STP systems incorporating mass balance, hydraulics, retention times, sludge flows, and recycle flow calculations.
- Size and optimize key treatment equipment such as:
- Tube Settlers
- MBBR Reactors
- Clarifiers
- Decanter Centrifuges
- Aeration & Diffuser Systems
- Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs;, and hydraulic calculation documentation.

2. Tender & Proposal Engineering

- Review technical specifications and tender documents.
- Prepare technical proposals, design basis, process datasheets, and compliance matrices.
- Recommend technology solutions based on performance and cost considerations.

3. Technical Documentation

- Produce process calculation sheets, mass balance reports, hydraulic profiles, equipment datasheets, and design basis documentation.
- Support development of operation manuals, commissioning guides, and control logic descriptions.

4. Client & Site Support





- Attend client meetings for technical clarifications and presentations.
- Provide process support during installation, commissioning, and start-up.
- Troubleshoot and optimize plant performance onsite.

5. Compliance & Innovation

- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., CPHEEO, BIS, PCB norms).
- Participate in R&D; activities for process improvement and new product adoption.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

- B.Tech / B.E in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Experience

- 4-6 years for Process Design Engineer
- 6–10 years for Senior Process Design Engineer
- Experience from OEM, EPC, or consulting organizations in WTP/ETP/STP design is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Robust understanding of physical, biological, and chemical water treatment processes.
- Proficiency with design and sizing tools and hydraulic calculations.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, MS Excel, and process documentation.
- Knowledge of industry codes/standards and environmental norms.

Soft Skills

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Clear communication and technical writing skills.
- Ability to work across teams and contribute to project delivery.

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,100,000.00 per year
