Job Description – Finance & Accounts Executive

Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Finance & Accounts Executive to join the Finance & Accounts team at Gleneagles Hospitals, Chennai. The candidate should have at least 1 year of relevant experience with good knowledge of cashier, finance and accounting concepts, and advanced MS Excel.
The role will involve handling day-to-day financial transactions, cashiering activities, accounting documentation, reconciliation, reporting, and supporting the hospital's finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle daily cash collection, cash receipts, payments, and cashiering activities.
- Maintain accurate records of cash and other financial transactions.
- Perform daily cash reconciliation and ensure proper handover of collections.
- Prepare and maintain receipts, vouchers, bills, and other financial documents.
- Support daily accounting and finance operations in accordance with company policies.
- Perform bank and cash reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports as required.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for internal and external audits.
- Coordinate with departments regarding billing, collections, payments, and financial queries.
- Use advanced MS Excel for data analysis, reconciliation, MIS, and financial reporting.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Finance & Accounts, Cashier, or a similar role.
- Good understanding of basic accounting and finance terminology.
- Practical knowledge of cash handling and reconciliation.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including:
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- Pivot Tables
- SUMIF/SUMIFS
- IF formulas
- Conditional Formatting
- Data filtering and sorting
- Basic MIS and reporting
- Knowledge of accounting software/ERP systems is preferred.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hospital environment and handle confidential financial information.
Educational Qualification
- B.Com / M.Com / BBA (Finance) / equivalent qualification.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in a hospital, healthcare, retail, or service-sector finance environment will be an advantage.
- Should be comfortable handling cash and financial documentation.
- Should demonstrate accuracy, integrity, accountability, and good organizational skills.
Pay: ₹275,815.00 - ₹370,000.00 per year
