Job Description – VMC CNC Programmer & Operator – 4th Axis

A. Position Summary

We are looking for a VMC CNC Programmer & Operator – 4th Axis for Dynamic Prestress (India) Pvt. Ltd. The position is based at Nashik.

The VMC CNC Programmer & Operator will be responsible for CNC programming, machine setting, 4th-axis setup, operation, monitoring, and process optimization of VMC machines to ensure smooth production of precision components, achieve production targets, maintain dimensional accuracy, minimize rejection and downtime, and maintain safety and housekeeping standards.

B. Key Responsibilities

- Develop, modify, and execute CNC/VMC programs as per engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
- Program and operate 4th Axis / Rotary Axis VMC machines for multi-side and precision machining operations.
- Perform machine setup, fixture setting, component alignment, tool setting, and work/tool offset setting.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, machining parameters, and tooling based on component and process requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining specifications.
- Conduct program simulation, dry runs, and first-piece trials to ensure safe and accurate machining.
- Monitor machine performance, machining parameters, tool wear, and production output during shifts.
- Make necessary and authorized program/offset corrections to maintain dimensional accuracy and process stability.
- Ensure production of components as per specified quality standards and customer requirements.




- Conduct first-piece and in-process quality inspections using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Identify and rectify minor programming, tooling, setting, and process abnormalities to minimize downtime and rejection.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room teams for machine breakdowns, tooling issues, and process-related problems.
- Optimize CNC programs, machining parameters, tool life, and cycle time to improve productivity and reduce manufacturing cost.
- Ensure optimum utilization of raw materials, cutting tools, fixtures, and other consumables.
- Carry out routine machine cleaning, lubrication, tool inspection, and basic preventive maintenance activities.
- Maintain CNC program records, production records, machine logs, inspection reports, rejection reports, and shift reports.
- Follow SOPs, work instructions, safety guidelines, quality procedures, and approved CNC programs.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S standards in the work area.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity, quality, tooling, cycle time, rejection reduction, and cost reduction.

D. Knowledge

- Knowledge of VMC/CNC Machining Processes and Manufacturing Operations
- Understanding of 4th Axis / Rotary Axis machining and indexing
- Knowledge of CNC programming, G-Code, M-Code, tool paths, and machining sequences
- Understanding of cutting tools, tool life, cutting speeds, feed rates, and machining parameters
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and basic GD&T;
- Familiarity with quality inspection methods and measuring instruments such as Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Dial Gauge, etc.
- Knowledge of CNC machine setup, fixtures, work offsets, tool offsets, and datum setting
- Basic knowledge of CAM software will be an advantage
- Basic preventive maintenance practices
- Safety standards, 5S, and shop floor practices

E. Other Information

- Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, CNC Machining, Production Engineering, or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 3–7 years of relevant experience in VMC CNC Programming & Operations in a Manufacturing Industry
- Additional Requirement: Practical experience in 4th Axis / Rotary Axis machining will be preferred.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
