To assist customers in selecting suitable hardware and interior products by understanding their requirements, explaining product options clearly, and providing a professional showroom experience.
The Sales Executive will be trained on plywood, laminates, doors, locks, handles, modular kitchen accessories, decorative panels and other interior products sold by Hardware Gallery.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Customer Handling
- Welcome and attend to customers visiting the showroom.
- Understand the customer’s requirement, budget and application before suggesting products.
- Ask relevant questions to identify the actual need rather than simply showing products.
- Explain product features, specifications, applications and price differences in simple terms.
- Help customers compare different brands and product options.
- Ensure every customer receives a professional and friendly experience.
2. Product Knowledge
- Learn the product range, brands, specifications, applications and pricing.
- Develop working knowledge of:
- Plywood & MDF
- Laminates
- Doors
- Locks & handles
- Modular kitchen & wardrobe accessories
- Decorative wall panels
- Other interior products
- Understand the basic difference between products and recommend them according to application.
- Continuously learn about new products and trends introduced in the showroom.
3. Sales
- Convert showroom enquiries into sales.
- Prepare quotations accurately under the guidance of senior staff.
- Explain quotations and product choices to customers.
- Coordinate with the customer until the order is confirmed.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell related products.
Example:If a customer purchases plywood for a kitchen, understand whether they also require laminates, handles, hinges and kitchen accessories.
4. Customer Follow-up
- Follow up on quotations and pending enquiries.
- Maintain proper records of customer enquiries.
- Contact customers at appropriate stages of their project.
- Follow up on potential repeat purchases.
- Collect customer feedback after purchase/delivery when required.
5. Showroom Management
- Maintain product displays, samples and catalogues properly.
- Ensure products and displays are clean and organised.
- Keep frequently requested samples easily accessible.
- Help maintain an attractive and qualified showroom environment.
- Ensure product prices and information displayed are updated.
6. Coordination
- Coordinate with the accounts, purchase and loading teams to ensure smooth order execution.
- Communicate customer requirements accurately to the concerned team.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, carpenters and other professionals when required.
- Escalate customer complaints or technical questions to senior staff.
