Electrical Design Engineer – Job DescriptionWho we are:

Summary:

UST is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to design electrical circuits, perform load calculations, select components, and develop electrical schematics for complex equipment. The role involves electrical system troubleshooting, engineering analysis, testing, and project execution while ensuring compliance with applicable electrical standards.

Location: Bangalore

Experience: 5–10 years

The Prospect

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and modify electrical circuits, assemblies, layouts, schematics, and detailed engineering drawings.

- Perform electrical load calculations and component selection.

- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and perform root-cause analysis.

- Conduct engineering analysis, testing, validation, and generate test reports.

- Execute engineering projects, including coordination with key suppliers.

- Install and power up equipment in the lab, debug systems, and resolve field issues.

- Develop electrical product specifications and review engineering documentation.

- Work with IO-based controllers, distributed IO systems, and communication protocols.

- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards and design requirements.

- Electrical Circuit Design and Load Calculations

- Electrical Component Selection

- E3.series Electrical Design Software

- Electrical Standards: UL508A, NFPA79, NEC, SEMI, and related standards





- IO-Based Controllers and Distributed IO Systems

- Communication Protocols: EtherCAT, TCP/IP, Modbus RS485, Modbus TCP/IP

- CAD Tools: Autodesk Inventor, UG-NX, or similar software

- Electrical Troubleshooting and Root-Cause Analysis

- Engineering Analysis, Testing, and Validation

- Technical Documentation and Electrical Specifications

Functional Knowledge:

- Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in electrical engineering and basic knowledge of related disciplines.

Problem Solving:

- Solves complex problems using analytical thinking and evaluates multiple sources of information to identify effective solutions.

Impact:

- Ensures the quality of individual work and contributes to overall team performance while following established guidelines and policies.

Interpersonal Skills:

- Communicates technical information clearly and explains complex concepts in straightforward terms.

Qualification:

- Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.

- 5–10 years of relevant electrical design and engineering experience.
