Head – Commercial & Operations

Company: Apana Logistics Limited
Reports to: Managing Director / Director
Experience: 10–15+ years, preferably in CFS / ICD / port operations

Role Overview
Take full ownership of day-to-day operations across all CFS / ICD / port sites, covering equipment, fleet, teams, customers and vendors, with daily reporting to the Director.

Key Responsibilities

- Operations: Run smooth, uninterrupted site operations. Set up SOPs, monitor performance, remove bottlenecks and ensure safety compliance.
- Reach Stackers & Trailers: Own maintenance, availability and utilisation. Manage breakdowns, spares and OEM/vendor coordination, and recommend repair, replacement or capex.
- CFS / ICD & Port: Coordinate with terminal operators, shipping lines, transporters and customs stakeholders. Track turnaround time and productivity.
- Customers: Act as the key operational contact. Visit sites, resolve complaints and submit visit reports.
- Procurement & Banking: Coordinate purchase of equipment and spares. Support equipment-financing documentation. Financial approvals remain with management.
- Team: Lead site teams, manage manpower and training, and hold regular review meetings.
- Reporting:



Send daily updates (equipment status, site performance, manpower, pending issues) plus weekly and monthly reviews. Escalate critical issues immediately.

Requirements

- Graduate in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field.
- 10–15+ years in logistics, CFS, ICD, port or heavy equipment operations.
- Experience managing teams and multiple sites.
- Hands-on knowledge of Reach Stackers, trailers and maintenance systems.
- Solid communication, negotiation and MIS skills.
- Willing to travel to sites.

KPIs
Equipment availability and downtime, utilisation of Reach Stackers and trailers, preventive maintenance completion, customer satisfaction, cost control, spares availability, SOP and safety compliance, reporting quality and multi-site management.

Compensation: As per experience and industry standards.
