Technical Operations Factory Retrieval Systems (Rabus) Engineer (L2)

The Retrieval Systems (Rabus) Engineer provides site-based management of the client\\\'s factory retrieval systems — e.g., call buttons (Abrufknöpfe) used on production lines — currently managed via the proprietary Rabus system running on a proprietary operating system, one of roughly 27,000 such endpoints in the Technical Operations Factory scope. \\r\\n\\r\\nThe role sits within the broader Technical Operations Factory service, which also covers BluePC factory computers (~47,000), scanners (~10,000), handhelds (~12,000), and factory printers (~6,000) across 40 sites, safeguarding IT operations for production-critical devices. SLA language in this appendix explicitly ties failures in this scope to lost-vehicle-production risk.

Key Responsibilities

Site-Based Retrieval System Operation Ensure centrally-defined processes for Rabus-managed retrieval/call-button systems function correctly at the local site. Test and distribute (remote and local) patches for retrieval-system endpoints (OS and other patches, e.g., from the security organization) after clarification with and approval from the client (local IT-responsible or Product Owner). Test and distribute (remote and local) driver, BIOS, and firmware updates for retrieval-system devices after client clarification/approval. Application & Configuration Management Test and distribute (remote and local) applications (new or updated, e.g., security or factory applications, backup/restore tooling) after client clarification/approval. Test and distribute configuration changes based on service requests after client clarification/approval.



Maintain local adaptations (bundles combining base retrieval-system software with local/factory-specific applications), including testing and distribution, after clarification with and approval from local IT-responsible or Adaption Owner stakeholders. Incident & Problem Management Perform incident and problem management for retrieval-system hardware and application issues, following ITIL practices. Coordinate with local factory stakeholders during incidents and changes affecting production-line retrieval systems. Local Solution Development Develop individual local solutions within the retrieval-system environment in close collaboration with ITx and business partners (e.g., "local adaptations") after client clarification and approval.
