Job Title: Mechanical Designer – Laser Cutting & Nesting

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Designer with hands-on experience in sheet-metal design, laser cutting, and nesting. The candidate will be responsible for creating accurate 2D/3D designs, preparing manufacturing drawings, developing flat patterns, and optimizing laser-cutting layouts to minimize material wastage.

Key Responsibilities

- Create 2D and 3D mechanical designs for sheet-metal and fabricated components.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing/fabrication drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Develop sheet-metal flat patterns/developments for laser cutting and bending.
- Prepare DXF/DWG files for laser cutting.
- Perform laser cutting nesting for different sheet sizes and thicknesses.
- Optimize nesting to reduce material wastage and scrap.
- Select appropriate sheet materials, thicknesses, bend allowances, and K-factors.
- Coordinate with laser cutting, bending, welding, and production teams.
- Check drawings and nesting layouts before releasing them for production.
- Modify designs based on manufacturing requirements and customer specifications.
- Maintain drawing revisions, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Support production teams in resolving design and fabrication issues.




- Ensure designs are practical for cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of sheet-metal design and fabrication.
- Hands-on experience with laser cutting and nesting.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD; experience with SolidWorks/Creo/Inventor or similar CAD software is preferred.
- Experience preparing DXF/DWG files for laser machines.
- Understanding of CNC laser cutting processes.
- Knowledge of sheet-metal bending, bend allowance, bend deduction, and K-factor.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Good understanding of material utilization and scrap reduction.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes such as welding, bending, punching, and grinding.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with laser nesting software such as Lantek, SigmaNEST, Metalix, TruTops, BySoft, or similar.
- Experience with CNC laser machines and different material grades/thicknesses.
- Experience in electrical panels, enclosures, machine frames, cabinets, or industrial sheet-metal fabrication is an advantage.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production documentation is preferred.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and sheet-metal fabrication.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
