Position description: Jindal Stainless Limited is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to oversee warehouse operations within the mining and metals sector. The role involves managing inventory control, optimizing storage solutions, and ensuring the efficient movement of raw materials and finished products. The candidate will lead a team to maintain safety standards, streamline logistics processes, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to support production and distribution goals. This position requires a strategic thinker with robust leadership skills and a deep understanding of warehouse management systems and supply chain dynamics in a heavy industry environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage daily warehouse operations ensuring timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Lead and mentor warehouse staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize discrepancies.
- Coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to align warehouse activities with overall supply chain objectives.
- Develop and optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards specific to the mining and metals industry.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements and generate performance reports.
- Drive process improvements through data analysis and adoption of best practices to reduce costs and enhance service levels.
- Manage vendor relationships related to warehouse equipment, maintenance, and transportation services.
- Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance metrics to senior management.
