Fabrication Welder – Field Work (Precast Concrete)

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out ARC / MIG welding and fabrication work as per drawings and instructions.
- Fabricate and weld MS steel structures, plates, brackets, frames, embeds and other precast-related components.
- Carry out welding and fabrication work at precast plant as well as project sites.
- Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, alignment and assembly of steel components.
- Work on fabrication and repair of precast moulds / shuttering and steel components.
- Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, dimensions and weld quality before and after welding.
- Read and understand basic fabrication drawings, measurements and welding symbols.
- Perform tack welding and final welding as per required specifications.
- Inspect welded joints for cracks, porosity, undercut and other visible defects.
- Rectify welding and fabrication defects when required.
- Carry out site welding, repair and modification work as instructed by the Site Supervisor/Fabrication Supervisor.




- Properly operate welding machines, grinders, cutting machines and other fabrication tools.
- Maintain welding machines, tools, cables, electrodes and other equipment in positive condition.
- Coordinate with fitters, helpers, supervisors and site teams for timely completion of work.
- Follow daily production/site targets and complete assigned work within schedule.
- Follow all company and project safety rules and PPE requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping at the work area.
- Report material shortages, equipment problems or fabrication issues to the supervisor.

Required Experience

- 1–5 years of experience in welding/fabrication work.
- Experience in Precast Concrete, Construction, Structural Steel, RMC, PEB or similar industry will be preferred.
- Candidates with experience in precast mould fabrication, steel fabrication or site welding will have an advantage.
- Fresh ITI candidates with strong practical welding skills may also be considered.
