VIPoint Solutions is looking for an Internal System Administrator to manage the day-to-day technology workplace that keeps our team productive. The role covers IT asset management, end-user support, network administration, and network and endpoint security administration, with strong hands-on Ubuntu Linux expertise and involvement in the planned macOS transition.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain a complete and accurate inventory of all electronic and IT assets.
Own the full asset lifecycle including procurement coordination, tagging, allocation, transfer, repair/RMA, and retirement or disposal.
Handle asset issue and return during employee onboarding and exit, including data wipe, re-imaging, and sign-off documentation.
Provide first and second-line support for hardware and software issues.
Troubleshoot Ubuntu Linux, Windows, and macOS systems, business applications, VPN clients, printers, and audio/video conferencing setups.
Build and maintain standard OS images and provisioning workflows.
Support the planned macOS migration including device evaluation, pilot rollout, application compatibility mapping, data migration, and user training.
Manage the internal IT helpdesk queue and ensure tickets are resolved within agreed response times.
Administer and monitor the office LAN and WAN, including switches, access points, and ISP links.
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot routers, managed switches, Wi-Fi access points, and VLAN segmentation.
Administer the Sophos firewall, including firewall rules, web and application filtering, VPN tunnels, IPS policies, and firmware updates.
Support internal server and infrastructure administration, including backup jobs, restore testing, and file/print services.
Manage patching, endpoint antivirus/EDR, vulnerability remediation, and endpoint hardening.
Maintain IT, network, security, and asset documentation.
Work closely with HR, Finance, vendors, and compliance teams on IT-related requirements.
Requirements




Strong hands-on Ubuntu Linux desktop administration and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of Windows desktop administration and troubleshooting.
Exposure to macOS administration or willingness and aptitude to build it quickly.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, NAT, VPN, and Wi-Fi.
Practical experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, managed switches, and firewalls.
Experience with patch management, antivirus/endpoint protection tools, and vulnerability remediation.
Experience managing IT asset inventories and physical audits.
Familiarity with helpdesk/ticketing systems and structured incident handling.
Excellent spoken and written English.
Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, prioritise competing requests, and follow issues through to closure.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Sophos firewall / Sophos Central administration.
Experience working in an SEZ / Infopark unit and familiarity with asset movement documentation.
Exposure to Active Directory / LDAP, Google Workspace, or Microsoft 365 administration.
Scripting ability using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Experience with RMM, MDM, or endpoint management tools.
Experience planning or executing a cross-platform endpoint migration.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, MCSA/MCSE, RHCSA, or Sophos Certified Engineer.
Basic understanding of ISO 27001 controls or similar security frameworks.
