Pod / Track Pod 8 — PPAT
Role Title Lead — Power, Performance & Thermal (PPAT)
Experience 8 – 10 years
Primary Location Hyderabad, India (Transition phase); HCLTech Offshore Delivery Center thereafter
Work Model Physical co-location at Hyderabad mandatory during Transition (Month 1–3) for knowledge transfer and hardware/lab access; delivery shifts to HCLTech's Offshore Delivery Center (ODC) from Shadow (Month 4–6) onward.
Role Summary
Own power, performance, area, and thermal (PPAT) sustenance — profiling, tuning, and validating SoC power/thermal behaviour across customer workloads.
Key Responsibilities

- Profile power, performance, and thermal characteristics against baseline.
- Identify and remediate thermal hot spots across the SoC package through targeted measurement and optimization.
- Triage power/thermal regressions introduced by firmware or driver changes.
- Tune DVFS and thermal-mitigation policies.
- Validate against customer power budgets and produce characterization reports for customer reviews, and mentor the pod's Senior Engineer.

Must-Have Skills

- 8–10 years SoC power/performance engineering.
- Power profiling tooling.
- DVFS / thermal governor tuning.
- Performance benchmarking methodology.
- Statistical analysis of power/thermal data.
- Thermal hot-spot identification and remediation methodology.

Valuable-to-Have Skills

- Thermal simulation tooling (e.g. Icepak or equivalent).
- ML-assisted DVFS tuning experience.
- Experience presenting power/thermal data directly to customer stakeholders.
