Job Title: MEP Estimation Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced MEP Estimation Engineer to manage estimation, costing, quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, tendering, and techno-commercial proposals for MEP projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in estimating the complete MEP package, including Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems, with the ability to independently review drawings, specifications, tender documents, and prepare accurate and competitive estimates.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for complete MEP projects covering Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems.

Review and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, BOQs, tender documents, and scope of work.

Carry out detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and tender documents.

Prepare BOQs, rate analysis, material and labour cost estimates.

Develop detailed item-wise costing and ensure accuracy of quantities and rates.

Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Compare vendor quotations and prepare commercial comparison statements.

Prepare techno-commercial proposals and tender submissions.

Identify exclusions, deviations, assumptions, and scope gaps in tender documents.

Coordinate with design, project, procurement, and commercial teams for estimation-related requirements.

Conduct market analysis and maintain updated rates for MEP materials, equipment, labour, and installation works.

Review specifications and recommend suitable materials and systems from a cost perspective.

Prepare value engineering and cost-saving proposals wherever applicable.

Support pre-bid queries, tender clarifications, and commercial negotiations.

Prepare variation and change-order estimates during project execution.

Maintain records of estimates, tender submissions, rate analysis, vendor quotations, and cost data.





Assist management in evaluating project profitability and commercial viability.

Ensure estimates are prepared within tender timelines and company standards.

MEP Systems Covered

The candidate should have experience in estimating one or more, preferably all, of the following:

Electrical systems

Plumbing and sanitary systems

Fire Fighting systems

ELV systems

HVAC/Mechanical systems, where applicable

Required Skills & Experience

5–8 years of relevant experience in MEP estimation and costing.

Robust experience in complete MEP estimation and tendering.

Hands-on experience in quantity take-offs and BOQ preparation.

Strong knowledge of MEP materials, installation methodologies, and market rates.

Experience in rate analysis and vendor/subcontractor quotation evaluation.

Ability to independently prepare techno-commercial proposals.

Good understanding of MEP drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, infrastructure, or similar MEP projects.

Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.

Experience with estimation/costing software will be an added advantage.

Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.

Ability to manage multiple tenders and estimation assignments simultaneously.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Strong understanding of MEP execution and commercial requirements.

Detail-oriented with excellent numerical and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and meet strict tender deadlines.

Good coordination skills with vendors, consultants, clients, and internal teams.

Experience in preparing estimates for complete MEP packages will be preferred.

Key Requirement

The candidate must have 5–8 years of hands-on experience in MEP estimation, with strong expertise in quantity take-off, BOQ preparation, rate analysis, costing, vendor quotation evaluation, and techno-commercial tendering for Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems.
