Senior Test Specialist

Job Summary
As the Senior SDET Engineer, you will lead a team of SDETs. You will develop and maintain automated test frameworks and tools, and serve as a change leader, guiding teams through adopting new tools, technologies, and workflows to improve application development and deployment. This position requires extensive hands-on system design and coding experience, as well as the development of modern testing frameworks using GoLang, Python, TypeScript, and other relevant technologies. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand their application needs, ensure scalability, and foster a culture of innovation and learning within the engineering team and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain tooling for automated test development, coverage, and reporting while ensuring design and approach are scalable.
- Integrate quality and effectiveness into the development process by assessing the root causes of issues and recommending test coverage and best practices.
- Develop the necessary software/solutions to execute and monitor application quality and performance.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Create and execute appropriate quality plans, project plans, test strategies, and processes for development activities in concert with business and project management efforts.
- Generate and maintain reusable automation code. Verify new features and functionality or perform regression testing to ensure existing functional continuity.
- Research and stay updated on new tools or steps to enhance SDLC processes, increasing stability and reliability.
- Debug large and complex codebases to assess the root cause of test failures, conduct code reviews, and suggest test coverage improvements.
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand the application architecture and provide technical support.
- Educate other disciplines regarding established QA Automation processes through communication, documentation, preparation, and training.
- Ensure applications are secure by coding essential security measures.
- Use continuous integration and distribution pipelines to deploy applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
Skill Requirements
- Strong testing experience in AWS Step Functions, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Lambda Triggers, AWS S2/S3, and EC2 etc.
- Strong experience in object-oriented programming, preferably in GoLang, TypeScript, and Python.
- Proven skills in testing, automating, and deploying cloud applications. In-depth knowledge of key features of AWS Cloud Service Providers.
- Good knowledge in AWS API, CLI, and SDKs for writing applications.
- Ability to use continuous integration and distribution pipelines to deploy applications.
- Ability to test essential security measures.
- Solid analytical, problem-determination, and resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Experience in web automation testing using frameworks like Selenium WebDriver.
- Experience in desktop and mobile application testing, preferably using WinAppDriver and Appium.
- Experience in testing Web Service APIs (REST/SOAP) through automation.
- Experience in white-box testing of code and working on unit test cases.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
- Participation in and conduct of code reviews, providing valuable inputs for code improvement/optimization.
- Excellent SQL skills, with the ability to generate complex SQL queries from an entity-relationship diagram.
- Ability to manage small projects in an organized, independent, and results-oriented fashion.
