Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance and reliability of our dairy manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for electrical and mechanical maintenance, preventive and breakdown maintenance, utility equipment, machinery performance, and ensuring uninterrupted plant operations.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on industrial experience in dairy, food processing, FMCG, or other manufacturing industries, with strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance activities of the dairy manufacturing plant.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for plant machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns with minimum production downtime.
- Maintain and monitor electrical systems including motors, MCC panels, control panels, starters, VFDs, sensors, PLC-related systems, and power distribution.
- Handle mechanical maintenance of pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, valves, pipelines, agitators, processing equipment, and other rotating machinery.
- Monitor and maintain dairy plant utilities such as refrigeration/chilling systems, compressors, boilers, DG sets, water systems, and other utility equipment, as applicable.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, checklists, inspection records, and maintenance history.
- Analyze recurring breakdowns and implement root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.




- Coordinate with the Production and Quality teams to ensure smooth and uninterrupted plant operations.
- Plan maintenance activities during shutdowns and coordinate planned maintenance and equipment overhauling.
- Supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, fitters, and contract maintenance personnel.
- Allocate daily maintenance work and monitor completion and quality of work.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts, consumables, tools, and maintenance materials.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment servicing, repairs, AMC, and technical support.
- Maintain proper documentation of breakdowns, preventive maintenance, spare consumption, equipment history, and maintenance reports.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with plant safety procedures, electrical safety requirements, GMP, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Support installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement of new machinery and plant utilities.
- Identify opportunities for energy saving, downtime reduction, equipment reliability, and maintenance cost reduction.
- Support continuous improvement, Kaizen, and other plant improvement initiatives.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safety standards within the maintenance area.

Required Technical Knowledge

- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Experience with motors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, VFDs, MCC panels, control panels, sensors, and electrical distribution systems.




- Knowledge of PLC-based equipment and industrial automation will be an advantage.
- Understanding of refrigeration/chilling and dairy-processing equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of utility equipment and plant infrastructure.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and breakdown analysis.
- Familiarity with RCA, MTBF, MTTR, maintenance planning, and spare-parts management.

Qualifications

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- 5–10 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
- Candidates with experience in dairy, food processing, FMCG, beverage, or other continuous/process manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance is required.
- Experience in leading or supervising a maintenance team will be an advantage.

The preferred candidate should be a hands-on maintenance professional who can independently manage plant maintenance activities, respond effectively to breakdowns, supervise the maintenance team, and work closely with Production and Quality to maintain reliable and productive plant operations.
