Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced NDT Engineer – ASNT Level III to oversee and manage Non-Destructive Testing activities for shipbuilding, ship repair, fabrication and marine engineering projects. The candidate will be responsible for developing NDT procedures, reviewing inspection results, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and coordinating with Classification Societies, clients, QA/QC and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, supervise and control NDT activities for ship repair, fabrication and structural works.
- Develop, review and approve NDT procedures, techniques and inspection plans.
- Provide technical guidance to Level I and Level II NDT personnel.
- Review and interpret NDT reports and examination results.
- Ensure NDT activities comply with applicable ASME, ASTM, ISO, AWS, IACS, Class and project-specific requirements.
- Coordinate NDT inspections with IRS/DNV/ABS/LR/BV/Class Surveyors, as applicable.
- Review and approve NDT personnel qualifications and competency records.
- Maintain calibration and traceability records of NDT equipment.
- Investigate inspection discrepancies and provide technical recommendations.
- Support welding inspection, structural inspection and repair-quality activities.
- Coordinate UT, MT, PT, RT and VT examinations as applicable to the project.
- Review weld quality and NDT acceptance criteria against approved specifications.
- Prepare and review NDT inspection reports, procedures and documentation.
- Participate in technical meetings with clients, surveyors and project teams.




- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements during NDT operations.
- Assist QA/QC management in resolving NDT-related NCRs and quality issues.

Required NDT Knowledge

Strong practical and technical knowledge in:

- UT – Ultrasonic Testing
- MT – Magnetic Particle Testing
- PT – Liquid Penetrant Testing
- RT – Radiographic Testing
- VT – Visual Testing
- UT Thickness Measurement
- Weld inspection and interpretation
- Weld defect identification
- NDT procedure development
- NDT acceptance criteria
- Calibration and equipment verification

ASNT Level III Requirements

The candidate should preferably hold ASNT SNT-TC-1A / CP-189-compliant Level III certification, or equivalent employer-based Level III qualification, in relevant NDT methods.

Experience in multiple methods such as UT, MT, PT, RT and VT will be preferred.

Preferred Industry Experience

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
