About the Role

Data Prowess Private Limited is looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer to lead quality assurance efforts across our products and applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both manual and automated testing, be able to independently design test strategies, and mentor junior QA team members while ensuring high-quality, defect-free releases. This is a full-time, onsite role based out of our Bangalore office.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web and/or mobile applications
- Lead manual and automated testing efforts across functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
- Build and maintain automation test frameworks and scripts (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
- Identify, document, and track defects/bugs, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and business analysts to understand requirements and define test coverage
- Conduct API testing and validate backend functionality (Postman, REST Assured, or similar)
- Own and maintain test documentation, test data, and test environments
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to sprint-level quality goals
- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, reviewing their test plans and execution




- Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and best practices to increase efficiency and coverage

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in software testing, covering both manual and automation testing
- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Java, Python, or JavaScript)
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured)
- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Experience mentoring or leading junior QA team members is preferred
- Willingness and ability to work onsite from the Bangalore office on a full-time basis

Good to Have

- Experience with performance/load testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
- Knowledge of database testing and SQL
- Experience in a client-facing/B2B product environment
