Job Description – Procurement Manager

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end procurement of engineering products, components, raw materials, consumables, and services.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies based on production, project, and business requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers for engineering materials.
- Source materials based on quality, cost, delivery, and technical specifications.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Float RFQs, compare quotations, prepare comparative statements, and finalize suppliers.
- Issue and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with Production, PPC, Stores, Quality, Engineering, Accounts, and Projects for procurement requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery commitments, quality issues, and pending orders.
- Handle price negotiations, cost reduction, and alternate vendor development.
- Ensure procurement is aligned with approved budgets and inventory requirements.
- Manage critical and urgent procurement requirements to avoid production delays.
- Review purchase trends and maintain appropriate vendor and procurement records.
- Resolve supplier-related issues regarding quality, quantity, pricing, documentation, and delivery.
- Develop alternate sources for critical engineering components to reduce supply risks.
- Conduct periodic vendor evaluation and performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and approval processes.
- Use ERP systems for purchase requisitions, purchase orders,



supplier records, and procurement tracking.
- Prepare and share MIS reports related to purchase value, pending orders, savings, vendor performance, and material availability.

- Fasteners, bearings, motors, shafts, and fabricated parts
- Sheet-metal and machined components
- Packaging materials and industrial consumables
- Production tools, dies, and maintenance items

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of engineering and manufacturing procurement.
- Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and engineering components.
- Strong vendor development and negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications and drawings.
- Good knowledge of RFQ, quotation comparison, PO, GRN, and procurement processes.
- Robust analytical and cost-control skills.
- Good knowledge of ERP and MS Excel.
- Strong communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement requirements and deadlines.
