Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Solar Installation Engineer with 3–6 years of hands-on experience in solar PV installation, site execution, manpower supervision, testing & commissioning, statutory compliance and project handover.

The candidate should have valuable knowledge of solar installation practices, Government Solar Schemes, DISCOM procedures, statutory requirements, contract execution and site management.

Key Responsibilities1. Solar PV Installation & Site Execution

- Supervise complete installation of Solar PV systems from mobilization to commissioning and handover.
- Manage installation of:
- Solar PV modules
- MMS/Module mounting structures
- DC cables and cable trays
- String/Array connections
- Inverters
- AC/DC distribution systems
- LT/HT panels
- Transformers
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- SCADA/monitoring systems
- Ensure installation is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements and quality standards.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical and other project teams for smooth execution.
- Identify site issues and coordinate with the engineering team for resolution.

2. Manpower Supervision & Site Management

- Plan and supervise daily manpower deployment according to the project schedule.
- Manage electricians, technicians, helpers and subcontractor teams.
- Allocate work fronts and monitor daily productivity.
- Prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
- Monitor material availability and coordinate with stores/procurement teams.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, tools, equipment and resources.
- Maintain site discipline and ensure compliance with company policies.

3. Testing & Commissioning

- Supervise pre-commissioning and testing activities.
- Coordinate testing of:
- PV modules/strings
- DC cables
- AC cables
- Inverters
- LT/HT panels
- Transformers
- Earthing systems
- Protection systems




- SCADA and monitoring systems
- Coordinate synchronization and grid-connection activities.
- Ensure all punch points are closed before commissioning.
- Support performance testing and final commissioning of the plant.

4. Government Schemes & Statutory Compliance

- Knowledge of applicable Government Solar Schemes and policies, including relevant MNRE/state government schemes.
- Coordinate with DISCOM, Electrical Inspector/CEIG and other statutory authorities as applicable.
- Understand documentation and approval requirements for solar projects.
- Support applications and follow-up for:
- Grid connectivity
- Net metering
- Electrical inspection/approval
- Synchronization
- Metering
- Subsidy/scheme-related documentation
- Other project-specific approvals
- Ensure project execution complies with applicable electrical regulations, standards and statutory requirements.

5. Contract & Subcontractor Management

- Understand project scope, BOQ, technical specifications and contractual requirements.
- Monitor subcontractor work as per approved scope and contract conditions.
- Verify work quantities and support measurement/billing activities.
- Coordinate with contractors regarding manpower, productivity, quality and work completion.
- Identify scope deviations and additional work requirements.
- Maintain proper records for variation, extra work and site instructions.

6. Quality & Safety

- Ensure installation is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections and testing.
- Ensure proper installation practices for modules, structures, cables, connectors, earthing and electrical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with site HSE requirements.




- Conduct toolbox meetings and ensure protected working practices are followed.

7. Documentation & Project Handover

- Prepare and maintain:
- Daily Progress Reports (DPR)
- Weekly/monthly progress reports
- Manpower reports
- Material consumption reports
- Inspection requests
- Testing reports
- Commissioning reports
- Checklists
- Punch-point reports
- Measurement sheets
- As-built drawings
- Warranty documents
- O&M; documentation
- Handover dossiers
- Coordinate final project handover to the client.
- Ensure all technical, quality, statutory and commercial documents are properly compiled before handover.

Required Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Renewable Energy Engineering.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in Solar PV installation and project execution.
- Hands-on experience in solar installation, testing and commissioning.
- Experience in manpower and subcontractor supervision.
- Good understanding of electrical systems used in solar PV plants.
- Knowledge of Government Solar Schemes, DISCOM procedures and statutory approvals.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and basic AutoCAD.
- Strong communication, coordination and site-management skills.
- Willingness to work at project sites and travel as required.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in rooftop, commercial, industrial or utility-scale solar projects.
- Experience with 1 MW–50 MW solar projects will be preferred.
- Experience in government/PSU solar projects will be an advantage.
- Experience in DISCOM, CEIG/Electrical Inspector and net-metering coordination.
- Experience in subcontractor management and project billing/measurement.
