QA/QC Engineer - PEB & Modular Construction

Location: Anywhere in India (Projects: Bihar / Haryana / Meghalaya / Nagaland) | Experience: 4-6 Years | Type: Full-Time, Transferable

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on and detail-driven QA/QC Engineer to uphold quality standards across our PEB and modular construction projects. You will own the implementation of quality assurance procedures, site inspections, material testing, and compliance documentation ensuring every structure we deliver meets design specifications, IS codes, and safety benchmarks. This is a field-first role requiring a proactive mindset, robust documentation discipline, and the ability to manage quality across multiple site locations simultaneously.

Role in the Team

Report to the Project Manager / QA/QC Head and work closely with site engineers, structural engineers, BIM team, and procurement to enforce quality standards across all phases of construction.

Act as the quality gatekeeper on site ensuring no structural steel fabrication, erection, RCC work, interior finishing, or MEP installation proceeds without meeting defined quality checkpoints.

Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality-related documentation, inspections, audits, and non-conformance reporting on assigned projects.

Liaise with subcontractors, vendors, and third-party inspection agencies to ensure materials and workmanship comply with contractual and quality standards.

Mentor and guide junior QA/QC staff on site, ensuring consistent adherence to the company's quality management system (QMS) across the team.

Coordinate with the design and engineering teams to flag constructability or quality issues early, before they escalate into costly site defects.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Assurance

Develop and implement quality assurance procedures for structural steel fabrication, PEB erection, RCC works, interior finishes, and MEP activities.





Monitor construction processes to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant IS codes at all stages.

Inspect incoming materials, construction equipment, and work areas for quality, conformity, and compliance with project standards.

Supervise and record quality control tests concrete, soil, welding, bolt tightening, structural integrity checks, and surface treatments.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain complete quality documentation inspection records, test reports, mill certificates, weld inspection logs, and compliance certificates.

Prepare and submit detailed reports on quality issues, non-conformances, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to senior management.

Collaborate with project managers to document quality results, track open issues, and ensure timely close-out of all non-conformances.

Inspections & Audits

Conduct routine site inspections of ongoing construction activities to detect and resolve quality issues before they impact downstream work.

Perform quality audits of subcontractors and vendors verifying adherence to contractual quality standards and approved procedures.

Lead or support internal and external audits; ensure all corrective actions are implemented, verified, and documented within agreed timelines.

Standards, Training & Coordination

Ensure all construction activities comply with applicable safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and relevant IS codes of practice.

Assist in developing project quality plans, inspection checklists,



and method statements for key construction activities.

Facilitate quality awareness training for site teams and junior QA/QC staff to embed a quality-first culture across projects.

Required Qualifications

Education

B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering with 4-6 years of experience; or Diploma in Civil Engineering (DCE) with 8-10 years of relevant experience.

Certifications in Quality Assurance / Quality Control (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent) are strongly preferred.

Technical Skills & Experience

4-6 years of hands-on QA/QC experience in the PEB, structural steel, or construction industry covering fabrication, erection, RCC, interior finishes, and MEP works.

Strong working knowledge of IS codes relevant to structural steel (IS 800, IS 7215), concrete (IS 456), and general construction quality standards.

Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS), inspection and test plans (ITP), and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.

Proficiency in QA/QC software tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.

Prior experience handling multiple site locations simultaneously across different states in India.

Exposure to ISO 9001 certification processes and knowledge of local construction regulations (Bihar region experience is a plus).

Mindset & Soft Skills

Willingness to travel extensively and relocate to project sites across India as per business requirements.

Strong attention to detail with a relentless focus on process compliance and continuous improvement.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills able to clearly document and present quality findings to all levels of stakeholders.

Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make sound quality decisions independently on site.
