A reach truck operator drives specialized compact industrial trucks to load, unload, stack, and move materials within narrow-aisle warehouse environments.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

1. Equipment Operation: Safely maneuver stand-up reach trucks through narrow aisles to lift, lower, and transport heavy pallets to high-tier warehouse racks.
2. Pre-Operational Inspections: Conduct daily safety checks on equipment—including brakes, steering, hydraulics, and battery levels—before starting operations.
3. Loading and Unloading: Transfer goods efficiently between delivery trucks, loading docks, and designated storage locations.
4. Inventory Management: Utilize radio frequency (RF) scanners to track stock locations, verify product quantities, and log inventory movements.
5. Warehouse Maintenance: Keep aisles clear of debris, wrap unstable pallets with shrink wrap, and report any rack damage or mechanical defects immediately to supervisors.
6. Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to workplace safety regulations, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain protected travel speeds.
