Role OverviewWe are looking for a technically robust Data Governance Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in OpenMetadata, particularly Collate , and a proven track record of delivering multiple customer implementations.The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with practical knowledge of data governance frameworks and the ability to work effectively with business, IT, compliance, and data stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and execute OpenMetadata/Collate implementations across multiple customer environments.Configure and implement data governance workflows, metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and stewardship processes .Work extensively with Data Contracts, Data Products, RACI frameworks, Ontology, and governance workflows .Understand business requirements and translate them into practical data management and governance solutions .Collaborate with Business, IT, Compliance, Data Owners, and other cross-functional stakeholders within a matrix environment.Assess existing data governance practices and identify opportunities to strengthen Data Quality, Data Stewardship, and Metadata Management .Define and implement pragmatic governance templates, standards, workflows, and operating practices .Support data validation and assessment activities through basic SQL querying, data profiling,



and metadata analysis .Guide non-technical stakeholders and clearly communicate technical concepts and governance outcomes.Support continuous improvement of governance processes and adoption of OpenMetadata/Collate across customer environments.Mandatory Skills & Experience8+ years of overall IT experience.5+ years of hands-on experience with OpenMetadata – Mandatory.Strong expertise in Collate/OpenMetadata , including implementation and configuration.Proven experience delivering multiple OpenMetadata/Collate customer implementations .Strong understanding of:Data GovernanceMetadata ManagementData QualityData StewardshipData LineageData ContractsData ProductsRACIOntologyWorking knowledge of SQL and data profiling/querying .Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment .Willingness to provide minimum 4-hour overlap with EST working hours (approximately until 9:30 PM IST).Good to HaveExperience working with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, or GCP .Experience with data catalog, governance, and lineage tools other than OpenMetadata.Experience in enterprise data governance transformation or implementation projects.
