Job Title- Design Site Coordinator ElectroMechanical
(Architecture, Interiors & Urban Design)

Reports To- Project Director/ Principal Architect/ MEP Design Lead

Job Purpose

To ensure that all electrical and mechanical (EM/ MEP) systems across architecture, interior and urban design projects are executed in line with the approved design, performance criteria, safety norms and programme. The role coordinates between the design team, MEP consultants, contractors and clients to manage site installation quality, interfaces, testing, commissioning and handover of EM systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. ElectroMechanical Design Coordination

- Coordinate issuance and version control of electrical and mechanical drawings, singleline diagrams, schematics, shop drawings and specifications from the design office to site and contractors.
- Track RFIs, design clarifications and change requests related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, ELV/ BMS and other EM systems; ensure timely responses from designers and consultants.
- Maintain a live register of EM drawing revisions, design changes, approvals and site instructions; circulate updates to all stakeholders.
- Support preparation of asbuilt EM drawings, test reports, commissioning records and O&M; documentation.

2. Site Execution & Quality Control – EM Systems

- Conduct regular site visits to verify that HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting and ELV installations align with approved designs, specifications and performance requirements.
- Monitor quality of equipment installation, cabling, ducting, piping, panels, DBs, containment and terminations against approved samples and method statements.
- Identify deviations, defects or coordination clashes (e.g., duct vs structure, cable tray vs ceiling grid); raise NCRs/ site observations and follow up on corrective actions.
- Coordinate mockups, sample approvals, equipment submittals and vendor data with the design team and client.

3. Planning,



Testing & Commissioning Support

- Assist the Project Manager in preparing and updating MEP/ EM schedules, lookahead plans and tradewise work sequences.
- Track progress of EM works, manpower and material availability; prepare site progress reports with photographs and status updates.
- Coordinate and witness testing and commissioning activities (pressure tests, insulation resistance, continuity, air/ water balancing, system performance checks) and ensure compliance with design parameters.
- Highlight potential delays, design conflicts or resource gaps; propose practical recovery measures in coordination with the project team.

4. Contractor, Consultant & Client Coordination

- Act as the primary onsite point of contact for MEP contractors, vendors, client representatives and EM consultants.
- Coordinate joint site meetings, EM design reviews and client walkthroughs; document decisions and action points.
- Ensure contractors have the latest EM design information, method statements and approved samples before starting critical activities.
- Support resolution of site issues related to EM design interpretation, interfaces with architecture/ interiors/ landscape, and client change requests.

5. Safety, Compliance & Handover

- Enforce site safety norms, PPE usage and protected work practices in coordination with the HSE team and main contractor.
- Ensure compliance with local building regulations, fire norms, electrical rules and statutory requirements relevant to EM systems.
- Support prehandover inspections,



punchlist generation and closure for EM systems; coordinate final testing, snag rectification and client handover.
- Assist in snag tracking and posthandover support during the defect liability period for EM installations.

Key Deliverables

- Updated EM/ MEP drawing register and RFI/ clarification log for each project.
- Weekly EM progress reports with photographs, progress vs plan and key issues.
- Site observation/ NCR logs and followup trackers for EM quality and design compliance.
- Lookahead schedules and trade coordination plans for critical EM phases.
- Commissioning records, test reports and handover documentation support for EM systems.

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Electrical/ Mechanical/ ElectroMechanical/ HVAC/ Building Services Engineering (or related field).
- 2–6 years of experience in architecture/ interiors/ fitout/ urban design projects, with exposure to MEP/ EM coordination and site execution.
- Prior experience with an architecture firm, interior design studio, designbuild contractor or urban design consultancy handling EM/ MEP works is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, singleline diagrams, shop drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit MEP/ Navisworks is an advantage.
- Good understanding of HVAC systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, firefighting, ELV/ BMS and their interfaces with architecture and interiors.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic scheduling tools (MS Project/ Primavera exposure is a plus).
- Familiarity with site documentation, RFIs, submittals, NCRs, testing & commissioning and handover processes for EM systems.
