Mechanical Design Engineer, LT Elevator

About Us

LT Elevator designs and manufactures passenger, home and goods elevators, and we're expanding into mechanical car parking with LT ParkSmart. We make most of our product in-house, including car slings, brackets, cabins, doors and structural frames. We cut on our own CNC laser and punching machines and run the factory on our own ERP. We want an engineer who will help shape how we design and build, not just fill a seat.

The Role

You'll own mechanical design from the first idea to a part the shop floor can build and a lift the site team can install. You'll work directly with leadership, production and installation teams. Your drawings will become real steel within days, and you'll see what worked and what needs fixing.

What You'll Do

- Design elevator systems: car slings, cabins, door assemblies, rail brackets, counterweight frames, pit layouts and modular glass shafts.
- Produce GA drawings, fabrication drawings and 3D models that CNC programmers and fitters can build from without guessing.
- Design for sheet-metal manufacture: bend allowances, nesting efficiency, standard gauges and fewer unique parts.
- Standardise products into modular families that cover many shaft sizes, capacities and door types.
- Keep BOMs accurate and mapped cleanly to inventory in our ERP.
- Do the engineering calculations: rail and bracket loads, sling strength,



buffer selection and deflection, in line with IS 14665 / EN 81.
- Solve site problems quickly when the shaft doesn't match the drawing.
- Cut cost and weight without cutting safety.

What We're Looking For

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Solid diploma holders with an exceptional portfolio are also welcome.
- Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or similar) and clean AutoCAD drafting.
- Hands-on sheet-metal and fabrication knowledge: welding, bending, punching and laser cutting.
- Solid fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, tolerances and GD&T.;
- Elevator, material-handling or structural-steel experience is a big plus.
- Systems thinking. You see how a design change affects inventory, production and installation.
- Comfort with data and software. Python or CAD automation skills are a bonus.
