Purpose/Objective

The Lead Primary Logistics is crucial role who ensures efficient dispatch and movement of cement from integrated and grinding units to various destinations.
This position manages transportation coordination to optimize costs and delivery efficiency, generates and analyzes performance reports to drive data-informed decisions, leads and coordinates logistics teams to achieve operational objectives, and ensures strict adherence to safety and compliance standards throughout all logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Movement and Dispatch Management: - Oversee the dispatch and movement of raw materials from suppliers to integrated and grinding units, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to plants.
- Coordinate with plant logistics teams to manage the dispatch of raw materials.
Transportation Coordination: - Manage and optimize modes of dispatches (rail, road & sea), to ensure cost-effective and efficient delivery.
- Monitor transportation activities and engage with transportation providers to improve service levels.
Reporting and Analysis: - Generate and analyse logistics reports to track performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Provide regular updates to regional logistics Head on logistics performance and areas for improvement.
Team Leadership and Coordination: - Lead and coordinate the activities of Head Plant Logistics and Support Rail Operations teams.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members to achieve logistics objectives.
Compliance and Safety: - Ensure adherence to safety regulations and compliance with logistics standards.




- Implement safety measures to minimize risks during transportation.
Commercial Acumen - Drive commercial success by contributing to the development and implementation of strategies that enhance revenue and market position.
- Identify and leverage recent business opportunities to maximize organizational growth.
Compliance with Legal and Regulatory Standards - Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate policies within Logistics.
- Conduct regular compliance audits to monitor adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and submit detailed compliance reports to senior management, highlighting areas of concern and improvement.
Ethical Standards - Use ethical reasoning to guide decisions, considering the broader impact on the organization and stakeholders.
- Ensure all communications, both verbal and written, reflect the organization’s commitment to integrity and ethics.
Ethics and Governance Integration - Ensure that ethical guidelines are integrated into all aspects of departmental planning and operations.
- Align departmental activities with the organization’s governance framework, ensuring compliance with established policies.




- Establish accountability measures to ensure adherence to governance and ethical standards across the department.
Internal Controls and Risk Management - Develop and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard against financial and operational leakages.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats to departmental operations.
- Monitor internal controls through regular audits and reviews, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
Policy Adherence and Development - Implement and enforce organizational policies to maintain consistency and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Contribute to policy development by providing feedback and insights from departmental operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Education Qualification - MBA in Operations, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
Work Experience (Range of years) - 10-12 years of experience in primary logistics operations, transportation management, and supply chain optimization Industry Knowledge - Demonstrate proficiency in logistics coordination, transportation modes, and route optimization.
