We are looking for an Experienced Senior Associate to join the Strategy& team within the PwC AC in India.
The Strategy& team operates as an integrated extension of the Strategy& UK practice.
Experienced Associates work directly alongside UK Strategy& colleagues as part of integrated engagement teams and contribute across the lifecycle of client engagements.
This is a front-end strategy consulting role involving problem solving, analysis, synthesis and development of client recommendations. Depending on the engagement, team members will also participate in discussions and interactions with clients alongside the UK team.
A significant proportion of our work supports private equity and corporate clients on commercial due diligence and other transaction-related strategy engagements, alongside broader growth and corporate strategy work.
The role is best suited to candidates who already have experience in client-facing strategy or commercial consulting roles, or roles where they have worked closely with on-shore consulting teams and had meaningful exposure to client engagements.
Responsibilities include:
As an Experienced Senior Associate, you will work as an integrated member of Strategy& engagement teams and take ownership of substantial client workstreams
• Leading workstreams across commercial due diligence, growth strategy, market assessment, investment strategy and other strategy engagements for private equity and corporate clients
• Working with Strategy& UK colleagues to structure strategic and commercial problems, develop hypotheses and translate client questions into clear workplans and analytical approaches
• Independently driving analysis across areas such as market attractiveness, market sizing and growth, customer dynamics, competitive positioning, business models and commercial performance
• Planning and overseeing primary and secondary research, including customer and expert interviews, surveys and other sources of market insight
• Synthesising complex findings into transparent commercial insights, implications and recommendations, and helping shape the overall engagement storyline
• Developing and reviewing high-quality, client-ready presentations and deliverables, ensuring conclusions are robust, evidence-based and clearly communicated
• Presenting findings and contributing actively to client and UK engagement team discussions, including responding to questions and refining analysis based on emerging hypotheses
• Reviewing and guiding the work of junior team members, providing coaching and ensuring work is delivered to the required quality and timelines
• Contributing to proposals, business development, practice-building and knowledge initiatives, while supporting the development of the broader Strategy& AC team
Desired Experience and Skills:
For the experienced-hire pathway, we are looking for candidates with relevant post-MBA / postgraduate professional experience, ideally gained in strategy consulting, transaction strategy, commercial due diligence or another closely related consulting environment
Strong candidates will demonstrate:
- Significant experience in a front-end client-facing strategy or commercial consulting role
- Relevant experience delivering commercial due diligence and/or strategy engagements, ideally for private equity, corporate or portfolio company clients
- Experience owning substantial workstreams and independently driving projects from problem definition through analysis, synthesis and recommendation development
- Strong exposure to strategic topics such as market attractiveness, competitive positioning, growth strategy, market entry, customer strategy, investment assessment or value creation
- Strong hypothesis-led problem-solving skills and the ability to structure and solve ambiguous commercial questions
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to identify the so what’,
connect different strands of analysis and develop clear recommendations for clients
- Experience working across multiple sectors or industries, with the ability to rapidly develop a strong understanding of new markets and business models
- Experience reviewing and coaching junior team members and managing delivery against demanding project timelines
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent written and verbal business communication skills, including confidence communicating with senior team members and clients

Educational Background:
For experienced hires, candidates would typically have one of the following backgrounds:
- MBA, Masters or other relevant postgraduate qualification from a leading business school / university in India or abroad
- Relevant post-MBA / postgraduate professional experience in strategy consulting, commercial due diligence or a closely related field
