Job Purpose

To lead and manage the overall Mechanical Design function, ensuring timely, accurate, cost-effective and customer-compliant design solutions across Agitator, Dosing System, Pump and related equipment. The role will provide technical leadership, manage design resources, drive standardization and design optimization, and ensure effective coordination with Proposal, Process, Project, Procurement, Production, Quality and Site teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the overall Mechanical Design team and allocate resources based on project priorities.
- Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, BOMs, calculations and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with customer specifications, project requirements and applicable engineering standards.
- Provide technical guidance for complex design and engineering issues.
- Lead product design, development, standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) and ensure designs are practical for manufacturing and assembly.
- Lead Cost Optimization, Value Engineering and material/component standardization initiatives.
- Review customer specifications and support technical discussions with customers and project teams.
- Coordinate with Process, Proposal, Procurement, Production, Quality, Electrical and Project teams for smooth project execution.
- Resolve design-related issues arising during manufacturing, inspection, installation and commissioning.




- Monitor design quality, engineering changes, rework and delivery timelines.
- Develop and mentor Design Managers, Assistant Managers, Design Engineers and Draughtsmen.
- Establish and maintain design standards, templates, standard drawings and engineering best practices.

Technical Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of Mechanical Design & Engineering.
- Positive understanding of Agitator, Pump and Dosing System design and applications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical calculations and equipment/component design.
- Knowledge of P&ID; reading and interpretation.
- Expertise in BOM preparation and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of Material Selection & Application.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA).
- Understanding of fabrication, machining, welding and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of Cost Optimization and Value Engineering.
- Ability to review and interpret client specifications and technical requirements.
- Strong engineering problem-solving and design review capability.
- Experience in leading and managing a mechanical design team.

Preferred candidate profile

- Experience: 10-15 years
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Reporting To: Head Engineering / General Manager Engineering
- Scope: Overall Mechanical Design – Agitator, Dosing System, Pump and related mechanical equipment
