Job Description

We are looking for an experienced ETL Automation Test Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Robot Framework, Python, and SQL. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests for ETL/data pipelines, validating data transformations, and ensuring data quality across source and target systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain ETL automation test scripts using Robot Framework and Python.
- Develop reusable and scalable automation frameworks for data validation and ETL testing.
- Perform source-to-target data validation and verify data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
- Write complex SQL queries to validate data across databases and ETL pipelines.
- Validate data transformations, mappings, business rules, aggregations, and data reconciliation.
- Automate functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end ETL test scenarios.
- Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and work closely with development and data engineering teams for resolution.
- Validate ETL workflows and data pipelines across multiple source and target systems.
- Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines.
- Maintain test scripts, test data, automation libraries, and test documentation.
- Participate in test planning, estimation, execution, defect management, and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum setting.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to automation framework improvements.

Required Skills

- 79 years of experience in software testing,



with strong experience in ETL/Data Warehouse testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with Robot Framework.
- Strong programming experience in Python.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL, including complex joins, subqueries, aggregations, CTEs, and data reconciliation queries.
- Strong experience in ETL testing and data validation.
- Good understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, data warehousing, and database concepts.
- Experience validating source-to-target mappings and transformation rules.
- Experience with automation framework development and maintenance.
- Good knowledge of functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Good understanding of SDLC/STLC and Agile methodologies.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

- Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or similar.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to Spark/PySpark or big-data testing.
- Experience with API testing and REST services.
- Knowledge of data warehouse concepts such as Star/Snowflake schemas, fact and dimension tables.
- Experience working with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar.
- Experience integrating automation tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualification

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
