Surety Underwriter 2+ Years Pune

Are you an experienced Surety Underwriting / Credit Risk / Project Finance professional with strong expertise in financial analysis, contractor risk assessment, project evaluation and underwriting? We are looking for a professional to evaluate contractor financial strength, assess project and contractual risks, and support sound underwriting decisions across surety products.

Responsibilities

- Evaluate contractor financial statements, cash flows, liquidity, working capital, leverage and banking facilities to assess overall financial strength.
- Review project tenders and contracts, including project scope, timelines, payment terms, contractor obligations and clauses that may create bond-invocation risks.
- Underwrite and assess Bid Bonds, Performance Bonds, Advance Payment Bonds, Retention Bonds, Maintenance/Warranty Bonds, Customs Bonds and other Surety exposures.
- Recommend underwriting limits, pricing, collateral requirements and appropriate risk conditions while preparing detailed underwriting notes and recommendations.
- Monitor contractor and project exposures, cash-flow trends, receivables, project progress and emerging risks, while coordinating with brokers, sales teams, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

- 2–5 years of relevant experience in Surety Underwriting, Credit Risk, Infrastructure Finance, Project Finance, Contractor Risk Assessment or Commercial Underwriting.
- Robust experience in financial statement analysis, credit assessment, working capital analysis, liquidity, leverage and project cash-flow evaluation.
- Exposure to contractor/infrastructure risk, EPC, construction, infrastructure or project-based businesses will be preferred.
- Understanding of bank guarantees, bonds, tender documents,



contracts and contractual risk will be an advantage.
- CA preferred; MBA Finance or equivalent qualification may also be considered.
- Strong analytical, commercial decision-making, communication and stakeholder management skills.
