Role & responsibilities

VPRC is looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager Finance to manage the company's day-to-day financial operations, cash flow, fund allocation, accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and internal controls.

The role will be responsible for ensuring financial discipline, optimum utilization of funds, timely reporting and effective financial controls, while providing accurate financial information to management for business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fund & Cash Flow Management

- Monitor VPRC's daily cash position and fund requirements.
- Prepare regular cash flow statements and forecasts.
- Plan and monitor fund allocation based on business priorities.
- Ensure optimum utilization of available funds.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing payments and maintain adequate liquidity.
- Identify potential cash-flow gaps and escalate them to management.
- Coordinate with management for major financial commitments and payments.

2. Financial Accounting & Reporting

- Supervise day-to-day accounting activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Review ledgers, bank reconciliations and accounting entries.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

3. MIS & Management Reporting

- Prepare monthly Finance MIS for management review.
- Provide reports on revenue, expenses, cash flow, receivables and payables.
- Prepare budget-versus-actual analysis.
- Highlight significant financial variances and cost deviations.
- Provide financial data and analysis to support management decisions.

4. Budgeting & Cost Control

- Assist in preparation of the annual financial budget.
- Monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets.
- Identify unnecessary expenditure and cost-control opportunities.
- Ensure expenses are incurred within approved limits and authorization processes.
- Review major expenditure proposals from a financial perspective.

5. Receivables & Payables Management





- Monitor outstanding receivables and payment collections.
- Prepare and review ageing reports.
- Coordinate with relevant teams regarding overdue payments.
- Monitor vendor liabilities and payment schedules.
- Ensure payments are planned according to cash availability and business priorities.

6. Internal Financial Controls

- Implement and monitor effective financial control procedures.
- Ensure proper authorization for expenses, purchases and payments.
- Verify supporting documents before processing financial transactions.
- Identify financial control gaps and recommend corrective measures.
- Ensure adherence to VPRC's finance policies and approval procedures.

7. Audit & Statutory Compliance

- Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors and consultants.
- Ensure timely preparation of audit schedules and supporting documents.
- Support statutory compliance relating to GST, TDS, income tax and other applicable requirements.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Maintain proper documentation for statutory and financial records.

8. Banking & Treasury Operations

- Manage banking transactions and relationships with banks.
- Monitor bank balances, payments and collections.
- Review bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with banks for routine financial requirements.
- Monitor interest costs, banking charges and other financial expenses.

9. Team Management

- Supervise the Finance & Accounts team.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor deliverables.
- Establish timelines for accounting, reconciliations, MIS and reporting.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of finance activities.
- Develop a culture of financial discipline and process adherence.

Qualification

- Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory
- Candidates who have completed their CA qualification with relevant post-qualification experience will be preferred.
- Robust knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, financial reporting, cash-flow management and financial controls is essential.

Experience

- 15 to 20 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably with significant post-qualification experience as a Chartered Accountant.
- Proven experience in fund management, cash-flow planning, budgeting, MIS, financial reporting and internal controls.
- Experience independently managing finance operations and working closely with senior management is preferred.
