The Boiler Operator will be responsible for the safe and effective operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the boiler and steam generation system (10 TPH capacity), ensuring uninterrupted steam supply to plant operations while maintaining safety and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor the boiler and steam generation system (10 TPH) as per standard operating procedures.
Regularly check and record boiler parameters pressure, temperature, water level, fuel consumption, and steam output.
Ensure proper functioning of feed water pumps, valves, safety valves, and other auxiliary equipment.
¢ Conduct routine inspections to identify and report abnormalities, leakages, or malfunctions.
¢ Carry out water treatment and blow-down procedures to maintain boiler efficiency and prevent scaling/corrosion.
¢ Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance of boiler systems.
¢ Maintain logbooks and shift reports in compliance with statutory and internal requirements.
¢ Ensure adherence to safety protocols, PPE usage,
and emergency response procedures.
¢ Ensure compliance with the Boiler Act, IBR (Indian Boiler Regulations), and other applicable statutory requirements.
¢ Support internal and external audits/inspections related to boiler operations.
Required Qualifications
¢ Education: Degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical Engineering
¢ Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in boiler operations / steam generation systems, preferably with 10 TPH capacity boilers
¢ Certification: Valid Boiler Attendant/Operator Competency Certificate (as per state Boiler Regulations) preferred
Key Skills
¢ Sound knowledge of boiler operations, steam systems, and combustion processes
¢ Understanding of water treatment processes and chemical dosing
¢ Ability to read and interpret boiler control panels/instrumentation
¢ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
¢ Knowledge of safety standards and statutory compliance (IBR)
¢ Good communication and shift-handover reporting skills
