- Designation: Mechanical Design Engineer Agitator
- Department: Engineering / Mechanical Design
- Function: Agitator Design & Engineering

Job Purpose

To design and engineer agitators, agitator assemblies, shafts, impellers, drive arrangements, supports, and related mechanical components according to process requirements, customer specifications, engineering standards, and manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Design agitator assemblies and associated mechanical components.
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Perform mechanical calculations for shafts, impellers, couplings, supports, fasteners, and other components.
- Understand process requirements and translate them into suitable mechanical designs.
- Select appropriate materials based on application and operating conditions.
- Prepare BOMs, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documents.
- Coordinate with process, electrical, production, procurement, quality, and project teams.
- Ensure agitator designs are practical for manufacturing, assembly, installation, and maintenance.
- Support design verification and review activities.




- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and design standardization.
- Resolve design-related issues arising during manufacturing and assembly.
- Support technical discussions with customers and vendors.
- Incorporate field and manufacturing feedback into future designs.

Technical Skills

- AutoCAD and SolidWorks proficiency.
- Mechanical calculations.
- Knowledge of shafts, couplings, bearings, seals, impellers, and drive systems.
- Basic understanding of agitator selection and application.
- Knowledge of fabrication and machining processes.
- Material selection and application.
- DFMA principles.
- BOM and technical drawing preparation.

Preferred candidate profile

- Experience: 1-2 years preferred; experienced candidates may be considered for senior responsibilities
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline
- Reporting To: Engineering Manager / Head Mechanical Design
