General Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer – Planning is responsible for all planning functions for the fabrication and installation of detail parts and assemblies to the aircraft for multiple systems and structures and maintaining the build sequence of the aircraft

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain the master build sequence of the aircraft adjusting the build sequence as required to maintain efficiencies, incorporate cost reductions, and eliminate unnecessary disassembly, travelled work, and non-conformances related to planning.

2. Manage the incorporation of engineering changes to planning and create/ manage Change Books to relate changes coming to each position of the aircraft build.

3. Create planning for engineering driven changes against obsolete parts in-stock, as directed by leadership

4. Support the review and creation of Change Requests (CR’s) for impacts to planning.

5. Support Corrective Action investigations and resolutions

6. Support addressing issues with planning affecting the issuance of the Certificate of Airworthiness against the aircraft

7. Create and maintain the master MBOM’s

8. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

1. 5 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing Engineering role, preferably planning experience fabricationation, assembly, and installation of detail parts, assemblies, and aircraft installations.

2. B.Tech / BE / M.Tech /ME in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

3. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and testing.

4. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma,



and other continuous improvement methodologies.

5. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

6. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.

7. Robust project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).

8. Experience with GD&T; a must.

9. Experience in an IPT (Integrated Product Team) format is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Proven knowledge of configuration management and creation/ maintenance of MBOM’s is a must.

2. Proven ability to convert complex processes into easy to understand, and follow, instructions

3. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5/ V6) and manufacturing simulation tools.

4. Experience in SAP process planning.

5. Teamcenter Manufacturing/ Process Planning creating MBOM’s and BOP’s are a plus.

6. Ability to analyze a variety of engineering data to help determine how to meet company objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities
Under general supervision, plans and designs manufacturing processes in an industrial plant. May improve production methods, determine manufacturing capacity, and set up production schedules. Provides support in the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation in support of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, and material handling. May assist in time and cost estimates. May assign work to drafters and technicians, technical writers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel as required. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and five to ten years of experience.
