Purpose/Objective
The Deputy Manager - Civil will be responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and coordination of civil construction activities for industrial building and infrastructure projects.
The role involves site supervision, contractor management, quantity estimation, billing verification, quality control, safety compliance, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.
This is an enhanced role with increased responsibility in project execution and team management.
Key Responsibilities of Role
Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution - Plan and monitor civil construction activities as per project schedules and milestones.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Procurement, Contracts, and MEP teams for smooth project execution.
- Prepare and review BOQs, quantity estimations, and progress measurements.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned civil works within approved timelines.
Construction & Site Management - Supervise execution of industrial buildings, RCC structures, steel structures, roads, drainage systems, and utility infrastructure.
- Monitor contractor performance, resource deployment, and construction productivity.
- Resolve site execution issues and ensure adherence to approved drawings and standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.
Billing & Cost Control - Verify contractor measurements, RA bills, and quantity reconciliations.
- Track project expenditures and support budget control activities.
- Monitor material consumption and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Support contract administration and variation order management.
Quality Assurance & Safety - Ensure compliance with approved quality standards, specifications, and QA/QC procedures.
- Monitor testing and inspection activities for civil works.
- Enforce EHS requirements and statutory regulations at site.
- Participate in safety audits, toolbox talks, and compliance reviews.
Resource & Stakeholder Management - Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal departments.
- Guide and support site engineers and junior team members.
- Ensure availability of manpower, materials, and equipment for uninterrupted execution.
Documentation & Reporting - Maintain project records, drawings, approvals, DPRs, and work progress reports.
- Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports for management review.
- Track project risks and support implementation of mitigation plans.

Qualifications and Experience
Educational Qualification - B.
E.
/B.
Tech in Civil Engineering (Mandatory).
Preferred Qualification - M.
Tech in Civil Engineering or Certification in Project Management will be an added advantage.
Experience - 8-12 years of experience in civil construction and project execution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial building, manufacturing plant, EPC, power, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in handling contractor coordination, billing, BOQ preparation, and site execution.
