Application/Product Development and Infrastructure Support (Linux, Java Application Servers, AWS, DevOps)

Experience Required: 10+ years, with long-term enterprise project experience

Experienced Senior System Administrator to replace a long-serving member of our critical Banking domain application support and development program. This role is key to ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our application environments, with a strong emphasis on collaboration between Development, InfoSec, IT Infrastructure, and DBA teams.

The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Linux/Windows server administration, AWS Cloud, Java Stack application servers, and enterprise security practices in a regulated, highly secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Server & Infrastructure Management
- Administer and maintain Linux servers (RedHat Enterprise Linux and other variants) and Windows servers.
- Manage application servers including IIS, WebSphere, and Tomcat (8/9/10).
- Apply and manage Java platform and application server patches.
- Maintain network devices, firewalls, appliances, and WAF configurations.

- Cloud & Automation

- Manage AWS Cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch) and exposure to Azure environments.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Terraform.
- Administer containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.

- Application & DevOps Support

- Support Java Stack applications in development and production environments.
- Deploy applications across environments, ensuring security and compliance requirements are met.
- Work with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab, and GitHub for build and deployment automation.
- Integrate and maintain observability tools for performance and health monitoring.

- Security & Compliance

- Collaborate with Development and Information Security teams to implement and enforce secure practices.




- Manage vulnerability remediation, patch cycles, and security hardening.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulatory standards and ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).

- Resilience & Business Continuity

- Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, testing, and execution.
- Ensure high availability of business-critical systems.
- Maintain readiness for business continuity scenarios.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 12+ years of IT System Administration experience.
- Proven track record of 10+ years in large-scale enterprise environments, ideally in Banking/Financial Services.
- Solid experience with Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server administration.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud (Azure exposure is a plus).
- Strong background in Java Stack application support and deployment.
- Application server expertise in Tomcat, WebSphere, IIS.
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform).
- Familiarity with Observability/Monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- DevOps toolchain experience: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub.
- Strong Information Security process and tooling knowledge.
- Familiarity with firewall appliances, WAF, and secure network configurations.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise change control.
- Understand Info Sec practices

- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administration.
- Oracle Certified Professional (for database fundamentals).

- Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Docker Certified Associate.
