Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned Backend Developer with strong experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and services. The role requires strong programming fundamentals, hands-on experience with modern backend technologies, API development, databases, microservices, and cloud environments. Experience or exposure to data engineering is a significant advantage , as the role involves working with data-centric systems, analytics platforms, and data-intensive applications. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and applications . Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and web services for internal and external applications. Build and maintain microservices-based architectures and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance. Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including database design, queries, optimization, and performance tuning . Implement secure, reliable, and high-performance backend solutions. Integrate applications with third-party systems, services, and APIs. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective solutions. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture/design decisions. Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, Data Engineering, and other technical teams throughout the development lifecycle. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and application monitoring. Maintain clear technical documentation for backend services and APIs.



Required Skills Strong hands-on backend development experience using Java, Python, or Node.js . Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles . Hands-on experience with REST APIs, microservices, and web services . Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle . Good understanding of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or similar technologies . Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices . Hands-on exposure to Docker and Kubernetes . Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP . Strong understanding of application scalability, performance optimization, security, and system design. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Good-to-Have – Data Engineering Exposure Experience or exposure to ETL/data pipelines . Familiarity with Kafka, batch processing, or stream processing . Understanding of data lakes and data warehouses , including Snowflake or open-source platforms. Experience working with real-time data flows and event-driven architectures . Basic understanding of data modelling and analytics platforms . Experience integrating backend services with data/analytics applications. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field . 6 years of professional experience in backend development . Proven experience building and maintaining scalable, production-grade backend applications and services . Experience working with large-scale systems and distributed/microservices architectures . Robust problem-solving and analytical skills.
