About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Enterprise Application Architect – Full Stack who can operate at both the architecture and engineering levels, understand a business problem, design the solution, explain and defend the architectural choices, guide engineers through implementation, and step into the code when necessary.

The right candidate should be comfortable answering not only “How should we build this?”, but also “Why is this the right architecture, what alternatives did we consider, and what are the trade-offs?”

The role requires strong experience across React, Node.js/NestJS, GraphQL, microservices, event-driven architecture, Kafka, MongoDB/MySQL, Kubernetes, GCP, authentication/authorization, caching, and contemporary AI-assisted development.

What You Will Do:

- Own end-to-end solution and application architecture for complex SaaS platforms.
- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical designs and architecture blueprints.
- Define application boundaries, modules, services, APIs, data flows, integration patterns, and deployment architecture.
- Make and document key architectural decisions, including technology selection and design trade-offs.
- Design systems using modular monolith, microservices and event-driven architectures where appropriate.
- Define GraphQL architecture, including schema design, federation/API composition and service boundaries.
- Design asynchronous workflows and integration patterns using technologies such as Kafka.
- Define data architecture across relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL and MongoDB.




- Define an authentication and authorization architecture using solutions such as Keycloak/OAuth2/and OIDC.
- Design caching strategies using technologies such as Redis.
- Define cloud-native architecture on Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
- Address scalability, performance, availability, resilience, observability, security and disaster recovery.
- Establish architecture standards, reusable patterns and engineering best practices.
- Create architecture, sequence, and data-flow diagrams, API specifications, and technical documentation.
- Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure implementations conform to agreed designs.
- Build prototypes or proofs-of-concept to validate important architectural decisions.
- Work closely with product managers, business stakeholders and engineering teams to refine requirements and identify technical solutions.
- Mentor senior engineers and provide technical direction to development teams.
- Identify and manage technical debt and modernization opportunities.
- Evaluate new technologies and AI capabilities and determine where they provide meaningful business or engineering value.
- Remain hands-on and contribute to critical implementation areas when required.

Requirements:

- Approximately 10+ years of software engineering experience, with significant recent responsibility for application or solution architecture.
- Proven experience architecting and building large-scale SaaS/web applications.
- Strong hands-on background in React and Node.js, preferably NestJS and TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of microservices, modular architectures, and Domain-Driven Design principles.
- Strong experience designing event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar technologies.
- Strong experience with GraphQL, including schema design and federated/composed GraphQL architectures.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and API design principles.
- Experience designing solutions using MySQL and MongoDB, including data modeling, indexing and performance considerations.
- Experience with authentication and authorization standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and Keycloak.
- Experience with Redis or comparable distributed caching technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes architecture.
- Significant cloud architecture experience, preferably with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).




- Strong understanding of scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, observability, security, and disaster recovery.
- Experience defining CI/CD and cloud-native deployment architectures.
- Ability to analyze existing/legacy applications and develop pragmatic modernization strategies.
- Experience creating technical architecture documentation and presenting design decisions to engineering and business stakeholders.
- Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.
- Ability to mentor developers and influence technical direction without becoming a bottleneck.

AI & Modern Engineering

- Strong understanding of AI-assisted software development and modern engineering workflows.
- Ability to identify appropriate opportunities for incorporating AI capabilities into applications.
- Experience designing or building AI-enabled applications/platforms is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with LLM APIs, RAG, agents, or related AI application patterns is a plus.
- Ability to evaluate AI technologies pragmatically rather than introducing them without a clear use case.

Education
