The company sources and supplies high-quality raw materials such as coal, met coke, iron ore, DRI/sponge iron, pig iron, and iron ore pellets to steel, power, cement, and other industrial plants.

MatTrade is also expanding its presence in pet coke, limestone, and manganese ore, while providing value-added support to help customers optimize total cost of ownership.

Role: Coal Trader

The Coal Trader will be responsible for originating and managing coal trading opportunities, including identifying suppliers and buyers, negotiating contracts, and coordinating logistics for timely and cost-effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify suppliers and buyers and develop coal trading opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts and commercial terms.
- Coordinate logistics for timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Monitor global coal markets and price trends.
- Analyze demand and supply scenarios.
- Prepare commercial proposals and trade documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams, channel partners, and clients.
- Ensure contract compliance and manage trading-related risks.
- Maintain solid relationships with suppliers, channel partners, and customers.
- Support strategic initiatives to expand coal trading volumes and improve margins.





Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of coal and related commodities markets, including pricing, logistics, and quality parameters.
- Experience in trading, procurement, or sales within metals, minerals, or energy sectors, preferably serving industrial clients.
- Sound understanding of metals and minerals value chains, especially for steel, power, and cement industries.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret market data and assess risks.
- Effective negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of international trade practices, logistics coordination, and import/export documentation.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships with suppliers, channel partners, and industrial customers.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, trade management tools, and standard office software.
- A postgraduate qualification in business or finance will be an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, make timely decisions, and adhere to ethical trading practices.
- Prior experience in coal or bulk commodities trading, including international trade practices, Incoterms, and documentation, is highly beneficial.
