SAP Data Archiving & Document Management Consultant

Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as an SAP Data Archiving & Document Management Consultant within the IT Services sector. This pivotal role focuses on optimizing data lifecycle management and ensuring robust document governance across the enterprise. The successful candidate will leverage deep expertise in SAP ecosystems to design and implement efficient archiving strategies, manage metadata, and ensure full compliance with global data protection regulations. This position is critical for maintaining data integrity, reducing storage costs, and facilitating seamless document retrieval while adhering to strict retention policies.

Responsibilities

- Architect and configure comprehensive data archiving solutions utilizing SAP IQ and OpenText technologies to manage large-scale information repositories.

- Develop and enforce data retention strategies that align with GDPR requirements and organizational compliance standards.

- Implement and manage SAP Document Management System (DMS) functionalities, including deployment on Business Technology Platform (BTP) environments.

- Oversee metadata management processes to ensure accurate classification, indexing, and searchability of archived documents.





- Lead data migration and archiving initiatives specifically tailored for SAP S/4HANA landscapes to ensure smooth transitions and data accessibility.

- Configure archiving objects and processes to optimize system performance and reduce database footprint.

- Establish and maintain document management frameworks that support business continuity and productive information retrieval.

RequirementsRequirements:

- Minimum of 6 to 9 years of professional experience in SAP data management and archiving domains.

- Proven expertise with SAP IQ, OpenText, and SAP DMS, including hands-on experience with BTP integrations.

- In-depth knowledge of GDPR regulations and data retention laws, with the ability to translate compliance needs into technical solutions.

- Strong proficiency in metadata management principles and their application within enterprise environments.

- Demonstrated capability in executing SAP S/4HANA data archiving projects and configuring archiving objects.

- Solid understanding of document management best practices and the ability to design scalable document workflows.

- Advanced skills in configuring SAP archiving solutions to meet specific business and technical requirements.
