The QS is responsible for cost estimation, BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, variation handling, and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare quantity take-off for MEP items from drawings and specifications.
Prepare and update Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
Analyze rates, prepare cost estimates, and support tendering activities.
Track project costs, budgets, and cash flows.
Prepare valuations, monthly bills, and progress claims.
Evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare comparison statements.
Identify variations/changes and prepare VO claims and supporting documentation.
Prepare reconciliation reports (materials, labor, subcontract).
Support procurement through technical and financial evaluations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Diploma + QS certification.
2–7 years of QS experience in MEP construction.
Solid knowledge of cost control, tendering, and contract administration.
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software.
