Critical Tasks
Strategy
Develop and implement GST and EXIM compliance strategies aligned with business objectives.
Identify prospects for tax efficiency, duty optimization, and trade incentive maximization.
Establish robust governance frameworks to mitigate indirect tax and trade compliance risks.
Execution
Lead GST compliance activities including return filing, reconciliations, annual returns, audits, and Input Tax Credit (ITC) management.
Monitor GST transactions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Manage import of coking coal, spares, consumables, and capital goods.
Oversee export documentation, customs clearances, logistics coordination, and statutory export advantages.
Administer export incentive schemes such as RoDTEP, EPCG, Advance Authorisation, and other applicable trade advantages.
Coordinate with procurement, logistics, commercial,



and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of EXIM transactions.
Governance
Liaise with GST authorities, Customs Department, DGFT, and other regulatory bodies.
Handle assessments, audits, investigations, notices, and litigation matters related to GST and Customs.
Ensure timely closure of audit observations and compliance gaps.
Maintain statutory records and documentation as per regulatory requirements.
People

Management
Lead and mentor the GST and EXIM team to achieve departmental objectives.
Conduct periodic reviews, capability assessments, and performance evaluations.
Drive a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Technology &
Digitalization
Utilize ERP and digital platforms for GST compliance, tax reporting, customs filings, and EXIM documentation.
Drive automation initiatives to improve compliance monitoring, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Enhance data analytics and dashboarding for tax and trade compliance management.
