Job Title: Site Quality Engineer – Boiler, Heater & Piping Erection

Location: Field-based / Customer Sites ( Pune area only)

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract

Experience Level: 10 to 15 years

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Quality Engineer to oversee quality assurance and quality control activities during the site erection of boilers, fired heaters, and heavy process piping. This role ensures that all fabrication, welding, and testing work complies with applicable ASME, IBR, and API codes and standards.

Responsibilities
Manage site QA/QC activities for the erection of boilers, fired heaters, heat exchangers, and pressure piping systems
Review and approve welding documentation, including WPS, PQR, and WQR
Coordinate and oversee non-destructive testing activities (PT, MT, UT, RT) and review resulting reports
Verify compliance with ASME Section I, Section VIII, B31.1, B31.3, IBR, and API standards
Witness and coordinate hydrostatic and pneumatic testing procedures
Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance Plans (QAP),



Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)
Liaise with Third Party Inspection Agencies (TPIA) and statutory Boiler Inspectors
Inspect incoming raw materials and bought-out components for specification compliance

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
10 to 15 years of relevant experience in site QA/QC for boilers, heaters, or heavy piping erection
Working knowledge of ASME, IBR, and API codes
Certification in welding inspection (AWS-CWI or CSWIP 3.1) preferred
NDT Level II certification (ASNT TC-1A) preferred
Willingness to travel and be based at project sites for extended periods
