Key Responsibilities
Material Management
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials as per purchase orders and delivery challans.
Ensure secure handling, storage, and preservation of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Organize and maintain proper stacking, labeling, and identification of materials.
Issuance &
Inventory Control
Issue materials to site teams based on approved requisitions.
Maintain accurate records of materials issued and returned.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock checks to prevent shortages or excess.
Documentation &
Reporting
Maintain stock registers (manual/electronic) for all incoming and outgoing materials.
Prepare inventory reports and update stock levels to the project/site manager.
Report damaged, expired, or excess materials to management for corrective action.
Coordination &
Compliance
Coordinate with procurement, accounts, and site engineers for material requirements.
Ensure compliance with company policies,
safety, and audit requirements.
Assist in physical verification of stock during audits.
Support Functions
Monitor the proper use of tools and equipment issued.
Track return of unused or surplus materials from site.
Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the store area.
Qualifications &
Skills
Education: Any Degree / Graduate (preferably in Civil/Mechanical/Commerce).
Experience:
Store Incharge: 5+ years of experience in stores management within construction projects.
Store Assistant: 1–3 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge:
Construction materials (cement, steel, aggregates, electrical/plumbing items, finishing materials, etc.).
Storekeeping procedures and inventory control systems.
