Designation: Staff Nurse

Reports To: Nursing Superintendent / Assistant Nursing Superintendent / Unit In-charge

Job Purpose To provide protected, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates, infants, and children in the NICU and PICU, ensuring continuous monitoring and timely intervention.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients.
Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, intake/output, and clinical condition regularly.
Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
Manage and monitor ventilators, CPAP, oxygen therapy, infusion pumps, and other critical-care equipment.
Assist doctors during emergency procedures, resuscitation, and critical interventions.
Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication records, and patient charts.
Follow infection-control, hand-hygiene, and biomedical-waste management protocols.
Identify changes in patient condition and immediately report to the treating doctor/unit in-charge.
Maintain proper documentation of all procedures and patient care activities.




Provide appropriate care for IV lines, central lines, feeding tubes, urinary catheters, and other devices.
Support parents and families by providing appropriate information and emotional support.
Ensure cleanliness, availability, and proper handling of NICU/PICU equipment and supplies.
Participate in handovers, rounds, audits, training programs, and quality-improvement activities.
Follow hospital policies, nursing protocols, safety standards, and qualified ethics.

Qualification
GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
Valid nursing registration.

Experience
Preferably 1–3 years of experience in NICU/PICU or pediatric critical care.
Freshers with relevant training may be considered.
