Qualification: B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering, Foundry Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle foundry and metallurgical activities related to pump castings and engineering components.
Review casting requirements, material specifications, drawings and applicable standards.
Coordinate with foundry vendors for pattern, moulding, melting, pouring and casting processes.
Monitor and verify chemical composition, mechanical properties and metallurgical requirements.
Coordinate spectro analysis, hardness testing, tensile testing, impact testing and other material tests as applicable.
Review and analyse casting defects such as porosity,
shrinkage, inclusions, cracks, blowholes and dimensional deviations.
Coordinate heat treatment and verify compliance with specified material properties.
Prepare and review material test certificates (MTC), inspection reports and metallurgical test reports.
Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for casting and material-related problems.
Coordinate with design, production, quality and suppliers for resolution of metallurgical issues.
Ensure compliance with applicable ASTM, ASME, IS and customer specifications.
Maintain records related to material traceability, heat numbers, test results and quality documentation.
