Social Studies Teacher – Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
Teach concepts related to History, Geography, Civics, Economics, and Social Sciences as applicable to the grade level.
Develop lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, projects, and other learning resources.
Use innovative and interactive teaching methodologies to enhance student participation.
Encourage students to develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and informed perspectives.
Assess student learning through tests, assignments, projects, presentations, and classroom activities.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic performance, and progress.
Provide constructive feedback and additional academic support to students where required.
Integrate current affairs, real-world examples, and relevant historical and geographical contexts into lessons.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-disciplined classroom environment.
Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school academic initiatives.




Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress and areas for improvement.
Participate in PTMs, school events, workshops, training programmes, and other assigned responsibilities.
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching practices.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Social Studies, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, or a related field.
B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification is preferred/required as applicable.
Relevant teaching experience in a school environment.
Solid subject knowledge and excellent communication skills.
Valuable classroom management and student engagement skills.
Ability to use technology and digital resources effectively in teaching.

Experience

2–5 years of relevant teaching experience preferred, depending on the grade level and curriculum.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
